The Gender, Sexuality & Violence Research Network, supported by the AHRC/CHASE, is a forum for discussion of and support for feminist, pacifist, anti-racist and queer research. Launched in November 2016, the project aims to counter patriarchy, hetero-normativity and militarism by considering how all three ideologies are interlinked and interdependent. Based at Somerset House in London, the group meets once a month for reading groups, talks, seminars, film screenings. The network was founded by Eleanor Careless (Sussex University), Edwin Coomasaru (The Courtauld Institute of Art), and Alex Coupe (Goldsmiths). You can read a summary of our 2017 seminar series here, as well as information about our 2017 conference at Goldsmiths. Do get in touch if you’re interested in contributing to the programme.
